Shopping for a Pocket Rocket? Choice Comes Down to Driver Personality

Do you have a desire to zip in and out of traffic, park easily in the tightest of spots, and have some fun in the process?  Choose a pocket rocket that matches your personality!
The Fiat Arbarth:  Dress flashy and turn on some Italian opera

If it’s a perky, fun-loving, retro, high-tech expression of Italian “gioia della vita” that invigorates you, the Fiat Abarth is a hot hatch mini to consider.  Its short wheelbase and performance-tuned suspension works in concert with a tight chassis and turbocharged 1.4-liter engine. The 6-speed automatic surprised skeptics, putting out 157 hp and 183 lb-ft of torque. Driving enthusiasts will still argue in favor of the 5-speed manual which notches up horsepower just a tad more.  Either way, be sure you put it in Sport Mode to enjoy the full effect.

Twist and Shout (for joy) with Mazda’s MX-5 Miata

If you’re looking to zip around curves in an affordable roadster that’s stylish inside and out, Mazda’s MX-5 Miata is a fun choice.  Fully redesigned for 2016, the Miata uses more aluminum to make it 200 pounds lighter than its predecessor, keeping it nimble through the twists and turns where its thrill-seeking owners take pleasure in putting it to the test. The rear-wheel drive 2016 model has a spirited 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 155 hp and 148 pound-feet of torque.
